Contents

XLIFF is the standard solution for exchanging multilingual data between systems that manage content, but it is far from always the optimal format for exchanging translation data. Depending on the shape and form of the content in the home system there can be much simpler solutions than a minimal XLIFF implementation. This session will highlight pitfalls when dealing with XLIFF, ways to identify them and alternatives to consider when facing them.

Takeaways

Attendes will leave the session with a deeper understanding of what XLIFF brings to the table, tools to identify scenarios when XLIFF is good fit and more importantly when it isn't.

Prior knowledge

Attendees are expected to have an intermediate to advanced understanding of translation workflows involving content management systems and translation management systems/CAT tools.
