Contents
This workshop aims at demystifying both structured content and the DITA standard for beginners. The presenter will start with an introduction to the four main pillars of structured content: a) modularity, b) topic typing, c) reuse options, and d) metadata.
During the workshop, the attendees will be able to create their own structured content set themselves, based on their manual or standard procedure content samples.
All the workshop attendees will be required to bring five to eleven pages of printed document and include a cover page. The content should be printed on one side only. The attendees will use this content sample to test their brand new DITA information model.
Takeaways
The attendees will learn how to build content for structured content, the importance of topic-based authoring and metadata and the options for reused and conditional processing offered by the standard.
Prior knowledge
None but people must bring a sample of their content, so the workshop is aimed at technical writers/information developers
