DITA is not the opposite of “docs as code” because this concept is broader than the standard that you use for writing. It is a philosophy that you should use the same tools and processes for documentation as for coding. We want to show how DITA fits into this philosopny and how it can be used in a software development cycle: version control with Git, Dockerized builds in CI/CD using DITA OT and semantic documentation testing with DITA tags.
Takeaways
The docs as code philosophy can also be applied to DITA. You can run DITA OT in Docker containers and implement automatic documentation testing using semantic DITA tags.
