Why is it that some people seem to be more convincing than others? The other ideas seemed to be equally good, and perhaps even better defined. And why is it that some people seem to have more impact on an audience with far less content than others? Why did this client select another candidate, despite your impressive background and experience? As technical communication specialist we need to sell ourselves every day, both internally and externally and cannot afford ourselves to not leave an impact. Through storytelling we can built a connection with people, make them understand us better and stimulate the desire to work with us.

In this training - that I designed for consultants in a highly competitive environment - we will learn and practice to use Storytelling techniques to pitch an idea, defend a statement or sell a service. It will be an 8-hour training squeezed into a short hands-on workshop, providing you with everything you need to start using storytelling in your daily work.

Biography

Before my career had even properly begun, I was already dismissed as a temporary worker because I told my manager the work was so repetitive it made me feel like a robot. Since then, my mission has been to use and explain technology in a way that motivates people and helps them reinvent themselves. Working together with my clients on technical innovations in a team setting gives me satisfaction and energy.

By combining a proven innovation approach with design thinking and storytelling techniques, I activate changes that are embraced at all levels of the organization and lead to maximum and lasting impact. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible and continuously learn and look for different scenarios to solve complex challenges, but always from the perspective that it must bring value to my clients and result in a better experience for their customers and employees.

As Technical Publication Services Lead at Accenture, I help them in transforming their processes using state-of-the-art technology and introducing innovations. By constantly challenging the status quo, I drive changes that have a real impact on people, processes and technology.
