The Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, applicable as of January 2027, changes some of the requirements for instructions to be provided by manufacturers of machinery and related products. Above all, it allows provision of instructions for use in digital format if these can also be downloaded during the machinery’s entire lifetime and can be saved and printed.

Jens Heuer-James is a lawyer and partner at Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft, specializing in product safety and product liability law. He is responsible for the tekom legal service and is also involved in the tekom and tekom Europe standard committees.
