Contents

An informative overview of ASD-STE100, a controlled natural language originally crafted for aircraft maintenance documentation. The presentation outlines the structure and core principles of Simplified Technical English (STE). STE offers significant advantages for both readers and technical authors. Its writing rules and controlled vocabulary have been selected to improve comprehension and reduce human-factor risks. In the era of AI, STE users are looking for new technologies that support them in the creation of technical documentation. We will discuss the needs and constraints of using software products for the content creation in STE and explain why brainpower is still very necessary to write in STE.
