Terminology is the vocabulary of a given field and reflects the reality of its users. It is not standardised per se but contains much variety. Language is ‘alive’ and develops in line with new inventions, etc. It is therefore crucial to stay in touch with the sector and the terminology users and collaborate on terminology. While being recognised, it is often not carried out when it should be at the core of the process. Why?

Takeaways

An insight to the practice of collaborative terminology management, why it is important to collaborate on terminology, how to get there and what to consider in the process in the context of technical communication.

Prior knowledge

I expect entry level to the specific field of terminology but I can adapt this to the audience.
