In April 2024, tekom published a revision of its guide "Safety Notes and Warning Messages" in German. The English version of the guide is being published during the present tcworld conference. This presentation outlines tekom's motivation for revising the guide, the major changes and the benefits offered by it. Additionally, ways to practical application of the requirements for safety notes and warning messages will be presented based on examples. The focus will be on target group-oriented structure and design of safety-related information both in "safety notes" sections and in warning messages relating to a particular context.

The contents, structure, and benefits of the guide will be explained and suggestions will be offered on how to make best use of the guide.

Takeaways

Participants will learn of new requirements for safety-related information and how to best fulfill these, which deficiencies are often observed and how these can best be remedied.
