In this workshop, we will be building iiRDS packages from DITA files. To participate, please bring:

  • A laptop
  • DITA files (sample files are provided if you don’t have your own)
  • The DITA Open Toolkit with the iiRDS plugin

To make setup easier, all required files have been assembled for download. Please download the package from the following link:

  • The DITA Open Toolkit with integrated iiRDS plugins
  • DITA sample files
  • Java Runtime Environment (for Windows)

Maximum participants: 20

Bring your DITA files and we'll build an iiRDS package. We will use the new iiRDS plugin for the DITA Open Toolkit and learn how it processes your DITA content to generate an iiRDS package. Then we’ll dive right into your iiRDS package and see how iiRDS metadata annotates your content. We will show you how the plugin extracts metadata from your DITA files and discuss potential use cases for content delivery. And for added fun, there’s going to be a raffle! You might be lucky and see your DITA files in a content delivery portal today.

Bring your laptop! You can bring your DITA files or use our sample files. 

Takeaways

Mark Schubert is a technical consultant at parson and supports clients regarding authoring tools. metadata and publishing solutions. 

Mark Schubert is a technical consultant at parson and supports clients regarding authoring tools and publishing solutions. DITA, DocBook, and other document type definitions are part of his daily routine. As a former technical writer, he knows XML-based authoring firsthand. Mark has been an acting member of iiRDS working groups Development and Tools from the start. As an iiRDS Ambassador he is participating in working groups of the Industrial Ontologies Foundry IOF.

Biography

Dr. Martin Kreutzer beschäftigt sich seit über 25 Jahren bei der Empolis Information Management GmbH mit der Konzeption von XML-basierten CMS-Anwendungen, Content Delivery Portalen und dem Austausch intelligenter Informationen. Standards wie XML, DITA, RDF und iiRDS liegen ihm am Herzen.

In seiner Rolle als Principal Solution Engineer begleitet er Kunden bei der Einführung von iiRDS in der Schnittstelle zwischen Content Management und Service Portalen. Seit einigen Jahren unterstützt er Unternehmen bei der Einführung KI-basierter Methoden im Service.
