In this talk, I'll share my journey as the sole technical writer at Camunda, and how I spearheaded the creation of a Writing Center of Excellence to encourage each and every employee in their abilities to write great content, no matter their experience level or native language. Through workshops, training sessions, and accessible writing resources, I empowered individuals to hone their writing skills and embrace the art of communication.

Biography

A former digital producer with an extensive editorial background, now an experienced technical writer and certified full-stack web developer with 6+ years of technical writing/editing experience and 3+ years of web development experience. Passionate about combining creativity and problem solving to develop user-friendly applications and clean documentation. Christina largely loves working as a liaison between engineers and users to ensure a phenomenal developer experience.

Christina graduated with degrees in communication and information sciences and psychology. A week later, she drove 2,300 miles across the United States, where she worked with numerous digital and print publications on editorial, digital and web content alongside some of the country's leading communication companies. She also spent a stint in London, England, where she wrote, edited and researched professionally for various publications. Following this work she officially kickstarted her technical writing work with Microsoft before joining the process automation company of Camunda.

Christina is particularly interested in great technical communication and digital content, web development, technical writing, travel writing and food writing. She has additional passions for aviation, marathons, learning new foreign and technical languages, and traveling the world.
