The TecCOMFrame project, which ran from 2015 to 2018, was funded by Erasmus+ and coordinated by tekom Europe. The project consortium involved academic partners from eight European countries. Project outputs included an academic competence framework for technical communication, several prototype curricula based on this framework, and a project website (https://www.teccom-frame.eu/teccomframe). Notwithstanding the level of consultation and research that led to these comprehensive outputs, in the intervening six years since project completion, several significant events and developments have changed how work is practiced and how content is researched, developed, and used.
In this presentation, we:
- summarize the TecCOMFrame project and the outputs (competence framework and curricula);
- present an overview of research about changes to work practices, content development, and user evaluation;
- discuss how the outputs can be updated based on this research;
- discuss how the outputs can be updated based on insights from practitioners, including the participants in the audience.
